District Partnerships – Trades Program
School District No. 42 and various post secondary institutions and trades training organizations have joined together to offer apprenticeship training programs for Grade 10, 11 and 12 students and adult learners.
February 16th: SD#42 Trades Partnership Information Night: This event is for anyone that is going into grades 11 and 12 and who would like more information about the Electrical, Metal Fabrication, Carpentry, Automotive, Hairdressing, Culinary, Masonry, Horticulture and Plumbing programs. These programs are offered at the high school level and partnered with a post-secondary. The info night is at Thomas Haney Secondary from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Students going into Grade 12 now have the option to graduate PLUS get first year post-secondary certification and apprenticeship training in one year and with no tuition fees.

Secondary School Apprentices
If you are in Gr. 10-12 and you have a paid job in a trade, please advise the Career Centre asap! You could be eligible for SSA credits and a $1000 scholarship!
